Combined effect of waste glass powder and recycled steel fibers on mechanical behavior of concrete

Abstract Several attempts upon inclusion of industrial waste materials such as fly ash, silica fume, GGBS, metakaolin and copper slag in concrete have already been experimented that exerted a significant impact on with enhanced mechanical improved durability properties. There were numerous authentic researches reported the significance steel fibers strengthening flexural property concrete. The paper investigates combined effect glass powder (WGP) has utilized substitution for fine aggregate varying percentages 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% 15% further reinforcing it recycled (RSF), drawn from tires by volume WGP was used 12%, mass replacement four different fractions fiber (i.e., 0, 0.5, 1 1.5%), respectively. All proportions mixes investigated to study variations compressive, split tensile strength varied replacements levels along various RSF 7 28 days curing. A mix 9% exhibited maximum strength. It found properties rose up level later declined. Also confirmed increase amount boosted compressive behavior Overall, an optimum WGP, reinforced 1% RSF, best performance compared other mixes.
